The UP Board High School exam is the biggest Class 10 exam in the country. In 2026 alone, more than 26 lakh students sat for it across 8,033 centres. The UP Board 10th Result 2027 will be declared by the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP), Prayagraj. Looking at the last four years, the result is expected in the last ten days of April 2027.
The 2027 exams have not been held yet. But the cycle has already started: registration for the 2027 batch closes this month. This page covers everything that is known so far, what can be predicted from past patterns, and how to handle the result when it comes. We will update it at every step: the time table, admit cards, the result date, and the result itself.

Where Things Stand Right Now
UPMSP extended the registration deadline for the 2027 exam more than once this year. Under the revised schedule:
- Schools had to collect fees from students by 1 September 2026.
- The fee had to be deposited in the treasury by 5 September.
- Student data could be uploaded and corrected from 6 to 11 September.
- The final data must reach the District Inspector of Schools by 30 September 2026.
If you are in Class 10 now, ask your school to confirm that your name, date of birth, parents’ names and subjects were uploaded correctly. The same details will appear on your admit card and marksheet. Correcting a spelling mistake after the result is a long process, but fixing it now is simple.
The next step is the 2027 time table. UP Board usually releases it in December; the 2026 exam began on 18 February. Admit cards are then sent to schools a few weeks before the exam.
How the UP Board Has Performed: Four-Year Trend
| Year | Result date | Pass % | Students appeared |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026 | 23 April, 4:00 PM | 90.42% | 26,01,381 |
| 2025 | 25 April | 90.11% | — |
| 2024 | 20 April | 89.55% | — |
| 2023 | 25 April | 89.78% | — |
Two things stand out:
- The date has become very predictable. For four straight years the result came between 20 and 25 April. So the 2027 result is very likely in the same window.
- The pass rate has stabilised around 90%. Movement has been less than one percentage point a year.
A Closer Look at the 2026 Result
The 2026 High School exam ran from 18 February to 12 March 2026. The board then evaluated about 2.75 crore answer books (Class 10 and 12 together) at 254 evaluation centres in just 15 working days, from 18 March to 4 April. The result came out on 23 April, only six weeks after the last paper.
| 2026 figure | Value |
|---|---|
| Students appeared | 26,01,381 (13,43,524 boys, 12,57,857 girls) |
| Students passed | 23,52,181 |
| Overall pass % | 90.42% |
| Girls | 93.76% |
| Boys | 87.30% |
| Highest score | 97.83% (two students shared rank 1) |
Girls led by 6.46 percentage points. This is a long-running pattern in UP. The 2026 figures also show that even the top score stayed below 98%. So the board’s marking in High School is strict at the top end, and scores above 95% are genuinely rare.
How to Check the UP Board 10th Result 2027
UPMSP publishes the High School and Intermediate results at the same time on the same websites, so pick the right link.
- Open upresults.nic.in or upmsp.edu.in.
- Click High School (Class X) Examination Result 2027, not the Intermediate link.
- Enter your roll number and school code exactly as printed on your admit card.
- Type the captcha and submit.
- Your subject-wise marks, total and division will appear. Download the page or take a screenshot right away.
- Check your name, parents’ names and date of birth against your admit card.
When the Website Is Slow
About 26 lakh students open the site at 4 PM, so it often slows down. In 2026 the board also offered:
- SMS: Type
UP10 <space> Roll Numberand send it to 56263. - DigiLocker: A digitally signed marksheet on results.digilocker.gov.in.
- UMANG app: The result under the UPMSP section.
These backup routes are usually announced again with each result. Confirm the 2027 details on the result day.
Passing Rules and Divisions
| Rule | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Minimum marks per subject | 33% |
| Minimum aggregate | 33% |
| First division | 60% and above |
| Second division | 45% to 59% |
| Third division | 33% to 44% |
In most High School subjects the 100 marks are split into a written paper and internal assessment (projects and monthly tests at school). If your written marks look low but you still passed, the internal part probably helped. It works the other way too, so treat school projects seriously.
Reading Your UP Board Marksheet
Your online marksheet will show:
- Roll number and school/centre details
- Marks in each subject, split into written and internal assessment where it applies
- Grand total and division
- Result status: Passed, Failed, or a note that you are eligible for the improvement / compartment exam
The online copy is provisional. The original marksheet-cum-certificate comes to your school a few weeks later. For your Class 11 admission and any scholarship forms, keep both the online copy and the DigiLocker PDF.
Scrutiny: Getting Your Answer Book Re-checked
UP Board calls its re-check process scrutiny. It is important to understand what it does:
- The board checks whether every answer was marked and whether the totals were added correctly.
- The board does not give fresh marks to answers that were already checked.
The 2026 process, for reference:
| Step | Details |
|---|---|
| Application window | 27 April to 17 May 2026 |
| Fee | ₹500 per subject (theory and practical charged separately) |
| Payment | Treasury challan only, at a government treasury or an authorised SBI branch; no online payment |
| Submission | Online registration on upmsp.edu.in and the printed form with the original challan sent by registered post to your regional office |
Both steps are compulsory. Many students register online but forget the postal step, and their applications are rejected. Apply only if a subject’s marks are clearly out of line with how the paper went. A counting error is common enough to be worth checking, but scrutiny will not help with strict marking.
Failed in One Subject? The Improvement / Compartment Exam
A failed subject does not mean losing the year. UP Board holds an improvement / compartment exam for High School students in July. You write only the subject you need to clear, and the rest of your result stays as it is.
In 2026 this exam had:
- 19,394 students appearing, and
- a 98.95% pass rate. The result came on 17 August 2026.
Almost every student who takes this exam passes it. So a single failed subject is a short delay, not a lost year. Students who fail in three or more subjects are not allowed to take it and must appear again in the next main exam.
Common Mistakes on Result Day
- Opening the Intermediate link by mistake. Both results go live together, and the error page confuses many students.
- Using “result by name” websites. UP Board results are released by roll number. Sites asking only for your name are unofficial and often wrong.
- Not saving a copy straight away. The site can go down for hours after 4 PM.
- Missing the scrutiny postal step. The online form alone is not enough.
- Ignoring a wrong spelling or date of birth. Report it to your school principal within days, not months.
Choosing a Class 11 Stream
UP Board Intermediate offers Science, Commerce, Arts (Humanities), Agriculture and Vocational subjects. Some points to think about:
- Science (Maths or Biology group): Needed for JEE, NEET, B.Tech, MBBS, pharmacy and nursing. Pick it only if you are comfortable with Maths or Science, not just because others are.
- Commerce: Leads to B.Com, CA, CS, banking and business. Many UP schools offer Commerce only in city colleges, so check availability near you.
- Arts: A strong route to law (CLAT), civil services, teaching, journalism and many government jobs.
- Agriculture: Offered in rural inter colleges. It leads to B.Sc Agriculture and related courses.
Other Options After Class 10
- Polytechnic (diploma in engineering): Admission is through the JEECUP entrance exam. It leads to a three-year diploma, and diploma holders can later join B.Tech in the second year.
- ITI courses: One- and two-year trade courses in electrician, fitter, welder and similar trades, with direct job options.
- NIOS Senior Secondary: A flexible option if you need to work or cannot attend a regular school.
