No. 08/2026) for 65 Company Commander posts in the Bihar Home Guard Service Cadre, under the Home Department (Special Branch), Government of Bihar.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

  • Must hold a Graduate degree from a recognized university, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the State Government, as on 01 August 2025.

Age Limit (As of 01 August 2025):

  • General (Male): 20 – 37 years
  • General (Female): 20 – 40 years
  • BC/EBC (Male & Female): 20 – 40 years
  • SC/ST (Male/Female) & Third Gender: 20 – 42 years
  • Age Relaxation:
  • Government servants with at least 3 years of regular service – 5 years relaxation
  • Ex-servicemen – 3 years relaxation (subject to actual age not exceeding 57 years as on cut-off date)

Physical Standards:

Height:

  • UR/BC (Male): Minimum 165 cm
  • EBC/SC/ST (Male): Minimum 160 cm
  • All Women (any category): Minimum 155 cm

Chest (Male candidates only):

  • UR/BC/EBC: Unexpanded 81 cm, Expanded 86 cm (minimum 5 cm expansion required)
  • SC/ST: Unexpanded 79 cm, Expanded 84 cm (minimum 5 cm expansion required)
  • No chest measurement required for women candidates.

Weight:

  • Women (all categories): Minimum 48 kg

Note: There is no scoring for height, chest, or weight β€” candidates either meet the prescribed eligibility or are declared unsuccessful. Third gender candidates follow the same physical standards as the Backward Class category.

Selection Process

The BPSSC Company Commander selection involves a two-stage Written Examination, a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and Document Verification.
