The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has already announced its 2027 calendar. The SSC (Class 10) written exams will run from 15 February to 11 March 2027, which is several days earlier than in 2026. The Maharashtra SSC Result 2027 is expected in May 2027, and the earlier exam start gives the board a chance to declare it in the first half of the month.
About 15.5 lakh students write the SSC exam every year in the board’s nine divisions. This page covers the 2027 schedule, what the 2026 result tells us, how Maharashtra’s grading and re-checking work, and what to do next, including the FYJC (Class 11) admission process.

Where Things Stand Right Now
In September 2026 the board released a tentative 2027 schedule for all nine divisions:
- Practicals, orals and internal assessment: 28 January to 13 February 2027
- Written papers: 15 February to 11 March 2027
The subject-wise time table, with the date and shift of each paper, has not been released yet. The board usually publishes it on mahahsscboard.in and asks schools and parents to report objections before it becomes final. So if a date clashes with a festival or a local exam, that is the time to raise it.
Compared with 2026: last year’s written SSC exam ran from 20 February to 18 March. The 2027 exam starts five days earlier and ends a week earlier.
Result Date Trend: Getting Earlier Every Year
| Year | Result date | Pass % |
|---|---|---|
| 2026 | 8 May | 92.09% |
| 2025 | 13 May | 94.10% |
| 2024 | 27 May | 95.81% |
| 2023 | 2 June | 93.83% |
The SSC result has moved from early June (2023) to the second week of May (2026), about three weeks earlier in three years. With the 2027 written exam also ending earlier, a result in the first half of May 2027 is likely.
The pass rate tells a different story. It has fallen for two years in a row, from 95.81% in 2024 to 92.09% in 2026.
The 2026 SSC Result in Detail
The 2026 written exam ran from 20 February to 18 March 2026 at 5,111 centres. The board announced the result at a press conference on 8 May, and marks went live online at 1 PM.
| 2026 figure | Value |
|---|---|
| Students registered | 15,55,026 |
| Students appeared | 15,42,472 |
| Students passed | 14,20,486 |
| Overall pass % | 92.09% |
| Girls | 94.96% |
| Boys | 89.56% |
| Students scoring 100% | 179 |
Division-wise Pass Percentage (2026)
| Division | Pass % |
|---|---|
| Konkan | 97.62% |
| Kolhapur | 95.47% |
| Mumbai | 94.97% |
| Pune | 94.24% |
| Nashik | 90.53% |
| Amravati | 90.50% |
| Nagpur | 89.07% |
| Latur | 88.42% |
| Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar | 88.41% |
Konkan has topped the state for years, and 2026 was no different. The gap between the best and weakest divisions was over 9 percentage points. Students in Marathwada and Vidarbha (Latur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nagpur) have a clear reason to start revision early.
Grade-wise Break-up (2026)
| Grade | Students |
|---|---|
| Distinction (75% and above) | 4,22,851 |
| First class (60–74%) | 4,82,264 |
| Second class (45–59%) | 3,80,437 |
| Pass class (35–44%) | 1,34,934 |
Almost 30% of all passing students got a distinction. This matters for FYJC admission, where cut-offs at popular colleges are often in the high 80s or 90s.
Maharashtra’s Passing Rules
- 35% in each subject is needed to pass. That is higher than the 33% used by many other boards.
- Most subjects are marked out of 100, split into a written paper and internal / oral / practical assessment.
- Grades on the marksheet: Distinction (75%+), First class (60–74%), Second class (45–59%), Pass (35–44%).
- Maharashtra gives extra marks for sports, and for arts such as the Government Elementary / Intermediate Drawing exams, if your school has sent your records. Check that your school uploaded them before the result.
How to Check the Maharashtra SSC Result 2027
- Visit mahresult.nic.in, sscresult.mahahsscboard.in or sscresult.mkcl.org.
- Click SSC Examination March 2027 Result.
- Enter your seat number from your hall ticket.
- Enter your mother’s first name exactly as registered. This login detail is unique to Maharashtra, and many students get stuck on its spelling.
- Submit, then download or print the statement of marks.
The result is also available on DigiLocker (results.digilocker.gov.in) with a digitally signed marksheet.
Tip: If the result doesn’t open with your mother’s name, try the spelling exactly as it appears on your school records, without “Smt.” and in the same form (for example “Sunita”, not “Sunita Devi”).
Not Happy With Your Marks? Verification, Photocopy and Revaluation
Maharashtra uses a clear three-step process, and it opens the day after the result:
| Step | What it does | 2026 fee (HSC notice) |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Verification of marks | Checks totalling and unmarked answers | ₹50 per subject |
| 2. Photocopy of answer sheet | Gives you a copy of your actual answer book | ₹400 per subject |
| 3. Revaluation | Fresh marking of your answers; only allowed after you get the photocopy | ₹300 per subject |
In 2026 the HSC window was 3–17 May, and the SSC window followed its own result date. Revaluation is only open to students who first take the photocopy. Read your answer sheet carefully before paying for revaluation, and apply only where you can see real undermarking.
Supplementary Exam and Class Improvement
- Students who fail one or more subjects can take the supplementary exam in July. If they pass, they can join Class 11 in the same academic year.
- MSBSHSE also runs a class improvement scheme for students who passed but want better marks. Check the board notice after the result for which exams it covers and how to apply.
Common Mistakes on Result Day
- Typing the mother’s name wrongly. This is the most common reason the result won’t open.
- Skipping the photocopy step and asking for revaluation directly. The board won’t accept it.
- Ignoring missing sports or drawing marks. Tell your school at once if extra marks you were due are missing.
- Waiting for the printed marksheet before applying for FYJC. Admissions start on the online result.
After SSC: FYJC (Class 11) Admission in Maharashtra
Class 11 admission in Maharashtra is done through a centralised online FYJC admission process. Students fill one form, list their preferred junior colleges, and get seats in merit rounds based on SSC marks. Keep ready:
- Your SSC seat number and statement of marks
- Your caste / reservation certificate (if applicable) and domicile certificate
- A list of colleges and streams you prefer, in order
Other paths after SSC:
- Polytechnic diploma: Maharashtra’s first-year diploma admissions are based on SSC marks, not a separate entrance exam. So your percentage directly decides which institute and branch you get.
- ITI courses: Trade courses with state admission rounds after the SSC result.
- HSC Vocational (MCVC) in selected junior colleges.
