- Population Studies (Code 15): Candidates with a Master’s in Geography (specializing in Population Studies) or Mathematics/Statistics may apply.
- Women’s Studies (Code 74): Open to candidates with a Master’s in Humanities (including languages) or Social Sciences.

Steps for Online Application:
- Registration
- Visit official websites: https://ugcnet.nta.ac.in/ or https://ugcnetjun2025.ntaonline.in/
- Register using a valid email ID and mobile number (to be retained for future correspondence).
- Note the system-generated Application Number after registration.
- Fill the Online Application Form
- Enter personal details (name, DOB, gender, category, etc.) as per official documents (e.g., SSC/University certificates).
- Provide postal addresses (permanent and correspondence) with PIN codes.
- Select four preferred exam cities (from Appendix-III codes).
- Choose UGC-NET subject code (Appendix-II) and PG subject code (Appendix-IV).
- Upload scanned documents:
- Photograph: 80% face visible, white background (10–200 KB, JPG/JPEG).
- Signature: Full signature in running handwriting (4–30 KB, JPG/JPEG).
- Fee Payment
- Pay via Debit/Credit Card/UPI or net banking (SBI/Canara/ICICI/HDFC).
- Retain proof of payment.
- Final Submission
- Review all details before submission.
- Download and save the Confirmation Page for future reference.
Key Requirements & Notes
- Mandatory Documents:
- Valid ID proof (Aadhaar, Passport, PAN, Voter ID, etc.).
- Category/EWS/PwD certificates (if applicable).
- Qualifying degree certificate/last semester marksheet.
- Important Guidelines:
- Only ONE application allowed; multiple forms lead to rejection.
- No corrections allowed post-submission (except during the correction window).
- Ensure photo/signature meet specifications; unclear/fabricated uploads result in rejection.
- No refund of fees once paid.
- Post-Submission:
- Download Admit Card from the NTA website (no physical copy sent).
- Carry Admit Card, ID proof, and passport photo to the exam center.
